Woodlands Area Volleyball Elite Woodlands WAVE has quickly become one of the most successful clubs in the Houston area in a very short time. We have just completed our first season which has been very successful due to some amazing players and coaches who joined us in our first year. We qualified 2 of our 8 teams for Junior Olympics this summer in Miami. Of which, our 13 Black team placed 3rd in the American division and won the bronze medal and our 15 Black team took 10 place in the National division. We are looking forward to improving our new club even more for 2009-2010 season. WAVE is a club that strives for excellence through hard work, commitment, and fun! Our main goal is to help girls succeed in volleyball to their fullest potential. Our coaches have decades of playing and coaching experience. All coaches are Impact certified. The WAVE coaching staff will work to help all of our players improve and be pushed to do their very best while playing with our club. Travel and Local Teams: All teams will practice two to three times a week and will compete in at least 10 tournaments. Travel teams are teams that qualify for TCS or Tour of Texas. These teams will have three out of town tournaments in addition to 2 to 3 J.O. Qualifiers. Teams that do not qualify will play in local tournaments and 2 J.O. Qualifiers. Developmental League: We also have a division for those who are new to volleyball called the developmental league. They practice once a week and will compete in a minimum of 2 tournaments or scrimmages. This type of team will be for girls new to volleyball and are from ages 7-12. How to play with WAVE: Tryouts for the 2009-2010 season will be July 12th and 13th. Please check the tryouts page for more detailed information. If we do not have a spot for a player that attends tryouts and would like to play, we will also have a few red shirt positions available. Red shirts will be on the practice squad and will be eligible for tournaments if another team member cannot attend. If you would like more information, please contact us. Cost: The cost for club volleyball varies depending on the program. The fees vary from $395 to $2705 depending on the team, age group, and commitment level. Our payment schedule for each team can be found on the "payments" page. It is possible to get a sponsorship to help pay for the costs.
